- Diesel Mechanics can earn up to $100k per year.
- Full Time - Monday-Friday 2nd shift.(occasional Saturdays) - Over-time
- First year up to two weeks paid time off plus Holidays. PTO increases over time.

Marengo Disposal, a subsidiary of Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscience Diesel Mechanic to join our GROWING team in Marengo, Illinois. This position performs repairs and preventative maintenance on diesel trucks including front-end loader, roll off, rear load, trailers and other support vehicles.
PAY:
- $28- $32 per hour (depending on experience) working 45-55 hours a week. Every hour after 40 is paid overtime.
- Eligible for safety bonuses.
SCHEDULE:
- 3 pm to 1-2 am Monday-Friday. Occasional Saturdays.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services. Performs inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Utilize vehicle computer electrical systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
- Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Shop environment including, but not limited to, machines, tools, heavy equipment, chemicals, solvents, dust, and fumes.
- Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions and loud noises
- Frequently lift / carry up to 50 pounds.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid drivers license (CDL preferred, but not required).
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
- 2 years of experience preferred.
- Must own personal tools.
