Diesel Mechanic - Virginia Job at Continental Express Inc
Continental Express Inc., is a full service transportation company that specializes in hauling refrigerated food products with a fleet of 450 trucks and 1200 trailers. We are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Technician for DAY SHIFT with to perform maintenance and repairs on semi tractors. Our current fleet of trucks consists mainly of Freightliner tractors with Detroit engines.
*** 1st Shift position, must be willing to work Saturday ***
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems on trucks and make necessary repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Willingness to do road side repair on company equipment as necessary
- Complete necessary paperwork on equipment and work performed
- Maintain clean and safe work environment
- Ensure completed work meets federal and state codes/regulations
- Work collaboratively with Operations team when coordinating repairs or service work
- Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have own basic tools
- Pay to be determined by experience and qualifications.
- CDL and experience with refrigeration systems are a plus.
- Experience with Freightliners and Detroit engines are a plus.
- Ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting and repairing after-treatment and electrical systems.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
