Digital Analytics Specialist Job at Atlantic Council
As the Digital Analytics Specialist, you will increase the effectiveness of the company’s digital channels through actionable insights, analysis, and robust reporting solutions. You will be responsible for helping the digital team to understand drivers of performance across sites, marketing channels, device types and member segments to make strategic decisions around digital, marketing and site investments. You would leverage the analysis through testing.
You will also be responsible for the development of digital & marketing analytics, which includes the delivery of meaningful research, analysis, summaries, conclusions, and recommendations that help drive audience growth via the Atlantic Council channels. This position serves as the liaison for connecting digital and web data to other marketing and pipeline data to maximize return on investment.
The Digital Analytics Specialist will work closely with the Digital Team and Atlantic Council Centers to provide the overall analytical vision and roadmap for improving web and digital marketing data quality, enhancing digital analytics capabilities, and leading the initiatives to elevate digital analytics capabilities to an industry-leading level. The ideal candidate moves fluidly across technical teams and hierarchies, is deadline-oriented, and is an outstanding intercultural and interpersonal communicator.
This position is based in our Washington, DC headquarters on a hybrid schedule, but could be fully remote for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day analytics/insights work to drive awareness of and engagement with Atlantic Council digital platforms including user behaviors (search/SEO, traffic, conversions etc.) across acquisition channels to grow end user engagement. Uncover opportunities and work with the Digital Team to develop and execute tests and analyze results.
- Communicate on the weekly/monthly digital data story to executive audience.
- Work across departments connecting data points to develop robust analyses and to create dashboards to support the needs of the business.
- Consolidate findings into actionable insights and communicate to educate and influence various business stakeholders across Atlantic Council.
- Provide analytics support to other departments for all web and digital marketing analytics related requests.
- Create mechanisms to facilitate website, email, and social media analytics literacy among staff. Develop and facilitate training for users of AC analytics platforms and build a repository of digital analytics training materials.
- Implement and troubleshoot and support issues involving our digital analytics and tagging.
- Maintain awareness of the digital analytics field, trends, and product landscape. Evaluate the effectiveness of the analytics tools and practices periodically, seeking to propose changes, enhancements, or discontinuation.
- Prepare and lead detailed monthly reviews of overall pipeline health, including identification of new trends, test results, or other changes that could affect growth potential.
- Lead the effort to improve overall analytics effectiveness including advanced segmentation and personalization for use on the site in executive dashboards, alternative key performance metrics, funnel analysis, and function specific reports.
- Establish strong relationships with business stakeholders and executives and become a trusted advisor for analytics, business insights, site changes, and new initiatives and opportunities.
- Define and manage the web and digital marketing analytics, conversion, and optimization strategy through an understanding of marketing and data requirements, user segmentation and targeting, and business goals.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all online and web and digital marketing analytics data via the continual monitoring and assessment of site and program tracking and implementation.
- Help define and rollout Google Analytics 4.
- Participate in other projects as needed/assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of digital analytics experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Management, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Inclination toward and demonstrated history as a data storyteller (both online and offline data).
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (especially Excel and Power Point).
- Proven experience with Advanced Google Analytics, Salesforce, Marketo, and Sprout Social Measurement required, and Google Tag
- preferred.
- Working knowledge of campaign trafficking and tagging processes and tools.
- Knowledge of best practices for web analytics systems, analysis and reporting tools, campaign tracking experience, experience with SEO tools (e.g., Moz, Screaming Frog)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbaland written), includingthe ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
- Strong analytical, planning, time management, and organizational skillsrequired.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Skilled in clear, persuasive, and effective communications with various stakeholders including excellent written skills,and some experience presenting to high-level audiences.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and work throughchallenges, underscored by strong judgmentand emotional intelligence.
- Demonstrated abilityto work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects in a fluid environment.
- Experience working for both for-profits and non-profits is desirable and think tank experience is preferred.
