Job Summary

This position leads a key digital initiatives to provide internal/external communications support. This role is involved in the development, execution, and optimization of global email and marketing automation campaigns/strategies, as well as supports global website enhancements and analytics tracking/reporting. The incumbent directs projects, offers creative input, provides strategy on digital channels and ensures communications integration. This position develops and implements initiatives targeting global website users, existing and potential customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with team members to define email campaign requirements including detailed list criteria and data processes, align on creative, create and manage to project plan
  • Constructs digital marketing campaigns and assets using the marketing automation tool such as lists, smart campaigns/workflows, reports, emails, landing pages, and forms
  • Develops and communicates end-to-end test plans to campaign team members/testers; oversees end-to-end testing process for marketing automation components
  • Analyzes data and provides feedback to campaign stakeholders/leadership to optimize and measure campaign performance
  • Demonstrates experience working in or directly with marketing automation tools or an email service provider (Marketo, Pardot, Eloqua, Acoustic, Hubspot, Listrak, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.
  • Assists in on-going email automation foundational efforts such as creating segmentations, template updates, general troubleshooting, etc.
  • Writes/reviews copy and directs design to ensure the UPS brand and messaging standards are met
  • Manages resources for communications projects to ensure standards and deadlines are met
  • Assesses the creative product (e.g., vendor outputs, deliverables, etc.) and provides feedback to ensure deliverables meet goals and objectives (e.g., brand, budget, messaging, etc.) based on original estimate
  • Identifies individual/team skill gaps and developmental opportunities (e.g., training, special assignments, conferences, projects, etc.) to facilitate individual/team development
  • Reviews and approves vendor invoices to ensure accurate and timely payments
  • Identifies opportunities to involve others in new/challenging work assignments or rotations that advance the skills and capabilities of individuals and the organization
  • Reconciles monthly and year-end spend to ensure financial reporting is accurate and within budget
  • Analyzes data and revenue to determine the ROI and to understand the impact on the organization
  • Builds and maintains relationships with external decision makers to increase business contacts and revenue
  • Collaborates with agencies to develop and coordinate email automation support, website updates (e.g., copy, artwork, concept development, layout, format, etc.) and print production
  • Monitors and provides feedback to vendors to ensure compliance of deadlines, quality, brand, strategy, and budget plan

  • Displays familiarity with the core service offerings across business units and deep familiarity with product, service, and customer facing technology offerings of at least one business unit
  • Compares/contrasts UPS's and competitor's products, services, customer facing technology solutions and is able to compare/contrast the customer's experience of engaging with UPS and primary competitors across all touch-points
  • Summarizes positive/negative gaps and develops plans to leverage advantages and correct disadvantages
  • Identifies root causes of problems with communication programs; designs communication programs based on organizational needs; adapts media channel and communication style to various situations or groups
  • Distinguishes between “big picture” concepts, comments and specialized, smaller specific facts associated with work; notes the specifics of events and experiences; explains, in general, how details impact end goals or outcomes; ensures that work is completed accurately and with the appropriate level of detail
  • Defines research objectives and key questions; designs research projects using common qualitative and quantitative marketing research methods; applies essential research design principles (pretesting, upfront analysis planning, and creating rational and achievable project plans); differentiates between strong and weak insights and acts accordingly; interprets and uses research results objectively
  • Develops project management plans and leads the implementation for basic projects of short duration requiring limited coordination and resources
  • Supports initiatives with well-defined project needs and cross-functional roles/responsibilities throughout the project life cycle; manages minimal organizational resistance to cross-functional project demands; employs project management tools and technology (e.g., Microsoft Project, Program Management Group website, etc.)
  • Experience with website development and management, as well as analytical analysis and reporting
