How will you make an impact?

The Digital Sales Representative I (DSR I) is a key business development role within the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This role is primarily responsible for engaging with prospects and existing customers to generate new sales opportunities using digital prospecting tools and the qualification of inbound leads. Once qualified, the DSR I will work to connect prospects and customers with their dedicated Account Manager to facilitate the sales process. The DSR I will also be encouraged to consistently meet monthly and quarterly lead conversion goals, and regional bookings targets for specific strategic product line.

What will you do?

Regional Business Development

  • Be the front line for all incoming marketing qualified leads within a specified regional geography.
  • Using various inbound/outbound marketing programs and campaigns, generate qualified prospects through excellent lead follow-up, mining, and nurturing.
  • Manage lead pipelines with persistent focus and in accordance with established practices and response times.
  • Uncover needs through discovery and determine the best solutions for each account based on a customer needs analysis.
  • Use SFDC to track activity and update lead, account, and opportunity information, as appropriate accurately and effectively.
  • Use internal and external data resources to conduct tactical research on organizations and contacts to help drive the number of new contacts and subsequent sales opportunities.

Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) Growth & Support

  • Exceed regional targets selling strategic CMD products and services.
  • Create, send, and follow up on sales generated quotes for assigned regions.
  • Assist regional sales teams with top-of-funnel pipeline development by scouting for incremental instrument opportunities.
  • Promote Thermo Fisher Scientific eCommerce platform and associated digital customer enablement tools.
  • Promote outstanding teamwork to achieve regional growth and bookings targets.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (chemistry or biology preferred) or equivalent relevant experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • 2-5 years of laboratory experience (HPLC, IC, GC, LC-MS) with working knowledge of general laboratory practices including complex workflows, sample preparation, hardware operation, hardware maintenance, data analysis, and reporting, preferred.
  • Familiarity with the sales process and proven success in a sales environment including lead follow-through, prospecting, quoting, closing, and excellent customer support, preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication, and presentation skills; goal and results oriented; a curiosity about conducting independent research and data mining.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations and seminars up to 20% including overnight travel.
