Supportive and compassionate Direct care worker for our IDD client, in GROUP HOME setting 1st SHIFT - Wilmington area.

• Monday -Friday
• 7am-3pm

Responsible Duties include but not limited to:* Provided assistance with activities of daily living including grooming, bathing, and toileting*.

Requirements:

• Must be dependable with a good work ethic.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and safe driving record.
• Must have a valid drivers license and state minimum auto insurance.
• Background checks will be performed on all applicants.
• Willingness/highly motivated to assist clients with working-out and building muscle tone.
• Confidence in working with clients that exhibit aggressive behaviors.
• Self-control and patience when dealing with escalated behaviors i.e. verbal provocation.
• Strong characteristics to handle individuals with explosive disorders.
• Ability to learn and execute de-escalation strategies to handle crisis situations in a competent manner.

Nice-to-have:

• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.

About This Position (Habilitation Technician):

• All trainings will be provided by A Caring Heart Case Management Inc.
• Direct support services provide instruction to individuals to help them learn, retain, or improve skills for maximal functioning.
• Skill building focuses on self-care, household maintenance, social and communication skills, money management, social and community inclusion, mobility employment, and self-regulation.
• Services will be provided in the home, community, and day program.
