Description of Responsibilities:
Working in the Community Learning Center programs, DSPs provide direct daily supports and services to people with disabilities.
- The DSP leads group and individual activities that promote skill development, health and wellness, and employment.
- The DSP supports people to access services within the local communities, such as shopping and volunteering.
- The DSP supports the person in all activities of daily living as needed, such as bathing, toileting, dressing and grooming.
- DSPs drive vehicles that transport people to and from their CLC location, as well as for activities.
- DSPs support people personal care needs and completes required documentation.
Qualifications Required:
- HS Diploma or GED; prefer an individual w/ CNA training.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Must be able to meet the HealthCare Worker Background Check requirements.
- Must posses a valid IL Driver’s License.
- Employee must meet the requirements to drive a PACE vehicle.
- Must be able to lift and transfer individuals (75 lbs.).
- Positive and up-beat personality is a must.
- All employees are required upon hire to provide a Motor Vehicle Report obtained from the Secretary of State
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- All employees must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Schedule: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Monday - Friday
