LEVEL 4G HOME. MALE AMBULATORY.

ON CALL STAFF NEEDED ASAP

Must have 3 years prior experience providing direct supervision and special services to persons with developmental disabilities or within six months of beginning to provide care complete at least 12 additional hours of continuing education.

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Able and willing to obtain finger print clearance from D.O.J/ F.B.I. prior to working with the consumers.
  • Have a valid Driver’s License and be able and willing to transport consumer
  • Must maintain current certification of CPR (including training of abdominal thrust technique) and First Aid
  • Have an understanding of Title 22 and Title 17 DSP requirements
  • Have experience in implementing the Individual Program Plans (IPP) of consumers.
  • Have an understanding of the Regional Center system and the role of the Regional Center.
  • Must have successfully completed DSP I upon one year of hiring and complete DSP II within second year of hire date.
  • Must have Crises Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification/ Non-Violent Crises Prevention certification.
  • Able and willing to attend all training courses required by House of Generosity, Inland Regional Center and Community Care Licensing in relation to providing care and services to persons with development disabilities in an Adult Residential Facility.
  • Able and willing to lift, bend, walk, move about, turn and stand for lengthy periods of time.
  • Able and willing to cook, clean, and assist consumers with daily living skills.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English for communication with direct support professionals and consumer.
  • Able and willing to work all shifts/days.
  • Must be familiar in working with consumers with developmental disability.
  • Must be able to establish good relationships with consumers, co-workers, and families.
  • Be able to communicate with consumer’s utilizing verbal, sign language/home signs or other communication system specific to consumers.

Duty Statement Responsibility to Administrator:

  • Ensure the health and safety of the clients residing in the home.
  • Maintain daily communication with the Administrator regarding any consumer and program issues.
  • Ensure program structure and implementation of program according to program design.
  • Ensure consumer choices through knowing and building relationship with consumers, assist in conducting resident counsel meetings, uphold consumer rights and offer opportunities for client opinion and participation in program.
  • Participate in DSP orientation, on-the-job training, and any required training to DSP .
  • Maintain knowledge in all policy and regulation changes of CCL and Regional Center through Administrator.
  • Ensure that CPR, First Aid and any other certification is current.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are upheld.
  • Assist in communicating with family, community, CCL, Regional Center, day program and any other agency or organization necessary to meet consumer services.
  • Participate, if requested, ID team meetings and any others necessary to meet consumer needs.
  • Assist in maintaining all client records, client monies and other documents necessary for consumer files and records.
  • Complete documentation on client progress through ID notes and other measurement tools.
  • Ensure reports and documents that have timeframes, SIR’s, reports, etc. are met.
  • Ensure all medical and dental visits, documentation, care, and physician orders are met.
  • Administer medication, document, and provide consumers education on medication, side effects, and rights.
  • Supervise clients and assist in programming needs.
  • Ensure implementation of IPP objectives, menu preparation, consumer activities, house cleaning, laundry, cooking, banking, personal care, shopping, transportation, emergency drills and any training to meet consumers needed.
  • Request any needed materials and supplies needed for facility or consumers.
  • Complete On-site orientation with first 40 hours, on the job training and all continuing education hours as required by position.
  • Provide transportation to outings, personal shopping, medical related appointments and activities.
  • Be able to communicate with clients utilizing verbal, sign language/home signs or other communication system specific to consumer.
  • Complete 12 hours of Continuing Education Units within each 12 month period following the assumption of duties of direct care Direct Support Professionals.
  • Implement Universal Precautions and Hand washing Techniques.
  • Implement principles of Universal Precautions. Furthermore, hand-washing techniques will also be included in the training.
  • Implement all policies and procedures in facility.
  • Conduct spot checks and quality assurance reviews to facility, if requested.
  • Complete all continuing education hours as required by the position.'
