GENERAL FUNCTION:

We are looking for an enthusiastic thought leader to lead our eyewear training and education initiatives. In this role, you will promote the company’s image of leadership, education, and research, in the US eyecare community and will serve as a professional face of EssilorLuxottica engaging in customer facing training sessions, meetings and trade shows. This position will partner with outside business groups such as marketing and commercial teams to ensure EssilorLuxottica’s education assets are meeting our customers’ needs and are reaching the broadest audience possible.


You will be responsible for the customer adoption of Leonardo, EssilorLuxottica’s new and innovative learning platform. The platform offers content in various formats, such as video, interactive lessons, podcast, and virtual classrooms presented by industry experts. Learners will have access to nearly 6,000 hours of learning content covering a variety of topics including brands, products and technologies.


To be successful in this role you must be customer focused, passionate about training and education, and eager to share vision care knowledge. You will demonstrate managerial skills in developing the eyewear training team.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead training development efforts by procuring resources, overseeing logistics and monitoring progress leveraging internal and external resources
  • Build EssilorLuxottica's presence as a leader in education within the eyewear industry, with a primary focus on establishing a leadership role for Leonardo
  • Partner with senior management to develop strategies for using education as a business driver
  • Create and drive customer education strategies which are closely aligned with overall EssilorLuxottica Wholesale business objectives
  • Provide thought leadership to accelerate Leonardo adoption as the top education platform in the industry; Manage reporting to goals
  • Continuous improvement of live training programs though idea generation and project management of new and existing content
  • Drive sales of Leonardo paid content section
  • Assess market to identify opportunities to meet the training needs of customers and grow EssilorLuxottica's profile in education within the eyecare industry
  • Create and execute process for measuring effectiveness of programs and success for EssilorLuxottica and adjust as appropriate
  • Serve as subject matter expert on related projects, including delivering virtual classrooms on Leonardo, attending industry events, tradeshows, and being the voice of Leonardo
  • Build effective working relationships with key industry organizations, associations and doctor alliances
  • Manage an eyecare training team
  • Partner with internal customers to drive utilization of the Leonardo platform


BASIC QUALIFICATION

  • 10+ years’ experience managing/implementing structured training programs, distance learning programs and technologies
  • 5 years’ experience in optical sales or management
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • ABO Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years’ experience in B2B eyewear role
  • Management experience
