Director -Environmental, Health & Safety Job at AVANGRID MANAGEMENT COMPA
Purpose
Formulates, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) strategy. Responsible for EHS policies, programs, and management systems, including oversight of analytics. Provides guidance on safety/environmental procedures to support compliance with Federal, State, & Local regulations as well as Company policies. Leads audit activities to ensure that organization is compliant, and risks are mitigated.
Responsibilities
- Develops strategic direction for Environmental, Health and Safety for the Company.
- Leads and interprets benchmarking efforts for Environmental, Health and Safety on behalf of the Company, including making recommendations to drive improvement.
- Is the lead liaison for Global EHS policy, programs, and management systems.
- Is responsible for metric development, accurate tracking and reporting that promotes sustainable long term and continuous improvement.
- Designs, develops, and implements methods and procedures to reduce or eliminate risk to individuals and the environment. Pro-actively provides guidance regarding environmental and safety issues, including answering procedural questions or concerns.
- Prepares and presents routine updates and results of EHS key performance indicators for multiple groups of stakeholders.
- Research and interprets impacts of all current and potential regulations that would influence Company policy.
- May represent the organization before regulatory agencies.
Skills and Requirements
Skills/Abilities:
- Systems Management and Data Analytics skills preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent decision-making skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
Experience/Training:
- At least 8 years of related compliance experience.
- Leadership experience.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
- Knowledge of Company compliance policies and procedures.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Safety, Health or Environmental Certifications such as CSP, CHMM, CIH, P.E. preferred.
