The Director of Finance position is a leadership role managing $100M+ in net sales for the Lowe product line at the Lebanon, MO manufacturing facility. The position will have financial oversight of operations, governance, controls, and cash management for the facility. This position acts as the business partner to the respective Brand President and the financial steward of the facility management team. The position will have direct leadership responsibility for the controlling and accounting teams and will drive the development and career growth of the finance/accounting team.

This position will report to the VP Finance Aluminum Boat Group, liaison with the commercial teams and support the cross functional leaders. This person would bring financial acumen, thought partnership and the ability to develop top talent. This position will also assist with oversight, analytics, and consolidation reporting for ABG group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the brand and plant leadership on strategy for the brands and the key initiatives of the facility.
  • Develop and manage the finance team including the creation and maintenance of a development plan for each team member.
  • Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the division including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statements, and monthly reporting presentations.
  • Provide the management team with an annual operating budget and monthly forecasts. Work with the management team to ensure success through revenue/cost/expense variance analysis support.
  • Work with the brand leadership on the strategic vision of the division, as well as assisting in the development of the strategic plans.
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the division including a robust cycle count program and oversight of physical inventories.
  • Lead the development and management of labor standards and Bill of Material.
  • Work with the commercial team to support the pricing exercise and be a key player on the product development process.
  • Oversee the capital investment process to establish financial justification for projects and ensure alignment with strategic direction of the business.
  • Provide financial guidance and analysis on, operational results, working capital improvements, cost reductions and driving Lean Six Sigma initiatives
  • Lead analysis and support actions to unlock value across production, logistics, and procurement
  • Interpret all aspects of production: Material Purchase Price Variance, Material Usage Variance, Manufacturing Scrap Variance and Overhead
  • Optimize and scale Manufacturing Overheads with production rates
  • Provide proactive consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions
  • Oversees dealer incentive process to ensure discounts are appropriately approved and provided to dealers on a timely basis
  • Effectively establishes priorities and responds to multiple responsibilities, such as business team, finance deliverables and corporate timelines
  • Problem-solving ability to analyze results, identify opportunities and create solutions
  • Actively test business processes, procedures and controls and provide recommendations to make improvements.
  • Ability to travel to the Lebanon location one week a month; and other ABG locations as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Masters (or in process) or CPA preferred
  • Eight to ten years of financial experience and management experience with the day-to-day financial operations of a manufacturing facility
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Cost Accounting
  • Ability to manage and analyze large amounts of data using Excel
  • Proficient with MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents
  • Strong communications and ability to concisely build a narrative for management, public groups, peers, and staff
  • Must be a willing partner as part of the senior leadership team and be able to represent the finance function while supporting the overall priorities of the business.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial

statement analysis and projection

  • Preference towards experience with manufacturing and publicly traded companies
  • Supervisory experience
  • Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization
  • Experience with measuring, driving, and delivering LSS and VAVE projects
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross functional teams to reach a common goal
  • Flexible and self-starter; able to multi-task while also being detail oriented and manage tight deadlines
