Director of Communication and Marketing Job at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
The Director of Communication and Marketing is responsible for communicating information about the worship, ministry, service, and programs of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (HTLC). The Director of Communication and Marketing will unify and align communication, both internally and externally, among staff and ministries, ensuring that high-quality and high impact messages are created for intended audiences.
Primary Duties
Own and manage the congregation’s brand and identity. Create, plan, organize, and implement effective messaging and strategies for congregation and community audiences, to support staff and ministry teams by conveying their vision and communication priorities, including:
- Manage internal and external communications, including print and electronic media and other publicity (i.e. signage, ads, etc.)
- Solicit stories that share faith from within our congregation and creatively communicate those stories via a variety of publications
- Create and publish weekly worship resources (bulletins), newsletters, and other communication and marketing materials
- Prepare the Annual Report (an overview of the ministries of the congregation for previous calendar year)
- Maintain website and social media pages; ensure content is current and up-to-date
- Ensure compliance for any copyrighted material used in church publications and performance licensing
- Work in partnership with program ministry staff, Council, and Ministry Teams to plan, coordinate, and effectively communicate worship, faith formation classes, service opportunities, and ministry programs – both internally and externally
- Coordinate volunteers to assist with mailings, special letters, and other communication materials
Education and Experience
- Associate degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Communication, Public Relations, or Marketing experience preferred
Knowledge of
- Microsoft, Adobe, and ShelbyNext programs (or willingness to learn)
- Basic web design and social media
- Print media, publishing, and graphic art design
- Photography and photo editing
- Professional quality color printing equipment
- Excellent customer service orientation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
