Are you the Director of Education we have been looking for? In this position you will be able to convey your passion for helping others by working with our youth!

Bay Cove Academy is a small, therapeutic day school serving adolescents, ages 12-21, who have a wide range of serious emotional, and or learning difficulties. Our staff provide a highly structured, learning environment for teens whose educational and social needs exceed those which traditional public and private schools can accommodate. We provide education, career development, and clinical service.

JRI provides the training so that:

• YOU will construct the master schedule and assign students and staff to classes that meet the regulations of the DESE and the mission of the school.
• YOU will supervise and evaluate four teachers as well as educational support staff.
• YOU will serve as a member of the Administrative Team that will oversee program management, training, and development.
• YOU will maintain familiarity with Special Education law and DESE regulations.
• YOU will support tasks such as writing IEP’s, facilitating meetings, writing curriculums, differentiating instruction, and the implementation of the schools Anti-Bullying and Anti-Hazing programs and policies.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Special Education Administrator certification or all of the following:
• M.ED Special Education/ SPED Administration
• At least 1 year experience as a supervisor and administrator
• At least 5 years of experience working in Special Education with young adults with emotional disabilities
• Candidates with experience working with adolescents in an alternative school setting or treatment program are preferred.
• At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth.
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.
