Director of Facilities

Verbal Beginnings (VB) is seeking a Director of Facilities. Verbal Beginnings is a growing ABA service provider, operating in Maryland, N. Virginia, DC, Delaware and Pittsburgh, PA.

The Director of Facilities will oversee all facilities management, independently developing strategy for regional facilities operations, service delivery, security, space planning and infrastructure oversight. The Director will work with Corporate Real Estate to develop best practices and standards for deployment of new locations to ensure timely facility occupancy. Will also provide guidance in areas of regional facilities maintenance, environmental, health, safety and occupancy planning. The Director may also oversee regional Project Management of new construction and renovations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, engage and develop a team of workplace services professionals utilizing strategies that advance regional facilities management growth plans
• Provide exceptional customer service for multiple regions
• Liaison between Landlords and employees for all facility operations
• Manage regional facilities budgets to ensure adequate center operations
• Develop facilities management policies and emergency procedures as required
• Oversee occupancy plans, generate quarterly KPI’s and facilities metrics
• Aggregate facilities national buying agreements and service delivery providers
• Ensure all facility workplaces operate efficiently, effectively and safely
• Proficient in operations and maintenance programs, able to develop RFP’s, budgets, comparative analysis and service delivery rollouts regionally
• Oversee regional construction, furniture procurement and technology infrastructure deployments
• Able to define requirements, specify furniture, fixtures, equipment and any associated asset management to support FF&E
• Serve as a member of the Safety Committee and emergency building contact. Oversee regional implementation of safety plans, training programs, ADA and OSHA compliance
• Implement regional security/access systems and instruct employees on security protocols
• Manage regional vendor relationships, third party managed services providers and implement brand standard signage and office services at regional locations
• Oversee building management systems, IT infrastructures and audio visual systems

Qualifications:

• 5+ years related experience in multi-site facilities management of a portfolio over 100k square feet, CFM or RPA designation a plus
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in FM related field, engineering, property management, or related curricula
• Capability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently
• Ability to work regionally with limited supervision
• Will require occasional travel
• Perform other duties as assigned

Technical / Professional Qualifications:

• Experience working with MS Office, Excel, Google Suite, Visio, Adobe or AutoCad a plus
• Must be able to comprehend and interpret details of construction documents and blueprints
• Excellent written, verbal communications. Strong problem solving skills

Schedule & Location:

• Schedule: Normal working hours 8:30 - 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional after hours or weekend work will be required. On call 7 x 24 for immediate emergency response. Ability to work flexible schedules as needed.
• Location: Columbia Maryland home base. Will require travel between Maryland and Virginia centers plus future regional locations outside of the Washington D.C. metro area.
