Position Title: Financial Director Job Status: Full-time

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
1. Maintain financial records on an accrual basis, including processing operating income/expense, and restrict funds and preparing corresponding financial reports.
2. Works cooperatively with Executive Director and Board Finance Chair relative to all fiscal and operational issues.
3. Generate proposals and supporting documents in response to solicitations.
4. Generates revenue through timely submission of well-researched, well written and well-documented grant proposals.
5. Oversee employee enrollment and funding to benefit plans.
6. Maintain record of contracts and insurance policies.
7. Assists with and prepares for the annual audit.
8. Pay bills prior to due date.
9. Compile and write reports to government, corporate, foundations and other funders.
10. Identifies funding opportunities and new program areas to match client’s priorities.
11. Maintain donor list.
12. Record account receivables and payables.
13. Maintain and prepare monthly financial/statistical report for presentation to the Board of Directors.
14. Negotiates the purchase of office supplies and furniture, office equipment, etc., for the entire staff in accordance with company purchasing policies and budgetary restrictions.
15. Maintains all required paperwork and binders for annual licenses and certificates.
16. Keeps informed and knowledgeable about FRC’s programs, attend training opportunities, meetings, and professional organizations, etc.
17. Serves as an effective representative for FRC and its programs.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or certification. High School Diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements, familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations for non-profits.
- Computer literacy in Excel, Word, and QuickBooks.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and human relation skills, group dynamics, knowledge of community resources.
- Ability to manage time, work independently and handle several projects at once.
- Proven excellent communication skills (oral and written), organizational skills, record keeping skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Discretion and confidentiality required.
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
