DIRECTOR OF INDIVIDUAL GIVING Job at Focus: HOPE
General Statement of Duties:
The Director of Individual Giving is a key member of the Focus: HOPE Development team and is responsible for leading strategy and day-to-day operations for development services, annual giving, major giving, planned giving, and donor engagement/stewardship.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Development Coordinator’s gift processing activities
- Oversee the Development Department’s CRM tools (Raiser’s Edge, RENXT, and Online Express)
- Analyze donor data to develop and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for individual giving programs (annual, major, planned)
- Create personalized strategies for connecting and communicating with prospective and current annual, major, and planned giving donors
- Direct the development of donor communications and collateral
- Develop and implement donor re-engagement initiatives for lapsed donors and coordinate stewardship and recognition activities with focus on donor retention and increased giving
- Analyze data and regularly compile reports (verbal and written) to communicate results for each element of the individual giving programs
- Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure accurate representation of contributed revenue in monthly financial reports
- Work in conjunction with the Event Staff to plan and implement promotions and events to attract, cultivate and steward donors
- Assist in the cultivation and solicitation strategies for capital campaigns and other initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong, sincere commitment to civil and human rights
- High-level oral and written communication skills and ability to work and communicate in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize work across multiple departments
- The ability to evaluate and interpret donor data and giving trends
- Computer literacy required, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, RENXT or other CRM tool
- Highly organized, able to work and supervise under pressure from deadlines and multiple priorities
- Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours
Education, Training & Experience:
- 5 – 7 years fundraising experience, preferably in an area of individual giving
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Supervisory experience preferred
- CFRE preferred
Supervision Required:
Performs duties under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer
