Based in Wheeling, WV, the Ziegenfelder Company is a private, family owned frozen novelty manufacturer that focuses solely on producing the highest quality frozen ice novelties, commonly referred to as twin pops. We are the largest manufacturer of twin pops in the country with production facilities in Wheeling, WV; Chino, CA; and Denver, CO.
The Ziegenfelder Company has averaged solid double-digit growth for the past 15 years while growing our tribe from 60 employees in one facility with three production lines to over 350 employees across three facilities and 13 production lines. POSITION
As our Director of Maintenance, you provide the leadership, strategic vision, and technical expertise necessary to provide proactive maintenance support for operations and the Ziegenfelder Company. You will help position Ziegenfelder as a culture focused on safety, food safety and people. Your role as leader of the Maintenance Tribe will provide critical support to Operations and strategic development of the manufacturing side of our business to include automation, additional vital lines, lean manufacturing practices and more. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- The Ziegenfelder Director of Maintenance is responsible for:
- Directing, planning, developing, and coordinating all planning and implementation of practices, policies, programs, and procedures for Maintenance Departments.
- Leading the design and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and physical layout to include construction and maintenance project management.
- Advising and leading on advancements in equipment and technology.
- Providing leadership for Maintenance Tribe members to implement Ziegenfelder strategy, production goals, policies, and procedures.
- Consistently coaching and developing leaders at all levels within the Maintenance Departments, and ensuring the right talent is in place in these departments to achieve KPIs.
- Managing outsourcing/internal build strategies and external vendor relationships and spend, keeping best cost manufacturing top of mind.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives related to proactive, predictive and preventative maintenance.
- Establishing strong partnerships and collaboration to support Operations Leadership and all Zieggy Leadership Tribe, to further focus on production, safety, food safety and people.
- Visiting all plants routinely as the primary, internal-facing organizational representative.
- This position is responsible for the food safety of our product.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration is preferred, or experience in lieu of education.
- 8+ years total manufacturing experience, including a minimum of five years in a manufacturing leadership role for a food or beverage manufacturer- preferably overseeing multiple locations.
- Experience with a rapidly growing company with plant expansions.
- Ability to work in a fast-pace environment with a high level of intellectual curiosity, and a passion and desire to understand and improve upon business processes.
- Ability to build, lead and inspire a team, developing bench strength at all levels and providing increased capabilities business-wide.
- Ability to instill a positive team environment. Must be able to communicate comfortably with the shop floor as well as members of the executive team.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to concisely summarize monthly operating results and future plans with executive staff and others.
- Travel up to 50% required.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to lift 30-50 pounds and move objects to a higher, lower or horizontal position.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach and grasp actions.
- Good spatial awareness working around manufacturing equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- May be subject to noise above 85 decibels with proper protective equipment.
- May be subject to cold temperatures of less than 32F with proper protective equipment.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
