Pleasant View Health Care Center is a family owned and operated 121 bed skilled nursing facility in Barberton, OH. Pleasant View is currently seeking a Director of Nursing who will plan, coordinate and manage the nursing department. The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of nursing care and services provided to the residents. By ensuring quality care in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility.

Director of Nursing job duties include but are not limited to:

• Initiates the development of policies and procedures that govern nursing services and other services
• Responsible for staff performance, staff recruitment, staff retention and staff development.
• Makes daily rounds to determine resident physical, mental and emotional status and implements any required nursing intervention.
• Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the goals of the facility.
• Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a budgeted process for staffing and services rendered.
• Serves as spokesperson for nursing matters and represents the facility with professional nursing and related organizations.
• Monitors and audits clinical record documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Facilitates and coordinates care planning activities of the disciplines of nursing, rehabilitation, dietary, activities, social services and restorative nursing.
• Treats residents with dignity and respect, observing and promoting resident rights and confidentiality of protected resident information in all aspects of leadership.
• Provide training and education to unit staff, as needed, to maintain and improve knowledge and skills necessary to provide high quality care.
• Attend mandatory in-service training programs and staff meetings to maintain and improve knowledge and skills necessary to provide high quality care.
• Maintains current knowledge and compliance with federal and state regulations that pertain to long term care nursing.
• Maintains strong working relationships with other staff members throughout the facility.
• Assists in ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for patients/residents, employees and visitors.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Experience/Education:

• Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in accordance with the laws of this state.
• Five-year previous nursing management experience in long term care preferred.
