Job Title: Director of NCILA Nursing
Reports To: Sr. VP of Northern Operations

Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Senior Vice President of Northern Operations, the Director of Northern CILA Nursing is responsible for the overall day to day operations of the Nursing department.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry a small caseload while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, which includes the supervision of three RN's and three CNA's.
- Develop, maintain, and implement nursing policies and procedures that reflect current standards of nursing practice and company philosophy of care and practices while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff. Monitor practices for effective implementation and achievement of results.
- Assists Senior Vice President of Northern Operations for DHS surveys. Actively participates in survey process and directs timely collection of information required by the survey team. Demonstrates concern for identified problems and undertakes corrective action while survey is in progress if appropriate. Gathers and presents supplemental documentation to avoid potential deficiencies. Collaborates with Senior Vice President of Northern Operations to develop corrective action responses.
- Ensures 24-hour availability as nursing administration resource by providing on-call and telephone access or designating an alternative, qualified nursing staff member to do so.
Caseload Responsibilities:
- Be on call 24/7 for all assigned facilities.
- Respond to all calls and texts within a reasonable time frame
- A weekly visit to all assigned facilities is required.
- Conducting Basic Health and Safety Training (Modules 7 and 10)
- Conducting the DHS Medication Administration Training Classroom Curriculum as mandated by Rule 116.
Qualifications:
Education and Licensure:
1. Valid license from the State of Illinois to practice as a Registered Nurse
2. BSN required; Master’s degree preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
4. Experience with Developmentally Disabled population preferred.
5. DHS Nurse Trainer preferred; otherwise, must register and pass the class to become DHS RN Trainer within 60 days of employment.
Experience:
1. Three to five years working with developmentally disabled persons preferred.
