ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director, Operations will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

  • Oversee day-to-day plant operations
  • Develop, implement, and monitor operations strategy, structure, and processes to improve employee engagement, operational and financial performance, and customer satisfaction
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, problem solving, collaboration, and employee engagement which becomes the standard by which all employees operate.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with global machining and production locations, and global Operations, Engineering, and Quality functions to ensure alignment with operating procedures and global best practices.
  • Develop, deploy and promote lean manufacturing practices
  • Monitor manufacturing performance to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives and identify and take corrective actions as needed
  • Develop, hire, train, and mentor a high-performance operations team
  • Create accountability and to lead by example
  • Provide regular performance updates to the senior leadership team
  • Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 10%

QUALIFICATIONS:

BA or BS in operations management, engineering, or related field

10+ years plant operations or engineering experience

5+ years management and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

Global/International experience

Experience managing others both directly and indirectly in a matrix environment

Demonstrated experience implementing Lean Manufacturing

Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)

Familiarity with industry standard safety, quality, productivity, S&OP, maintenance, inventory and management practices and processes

COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Must have experience with SAP
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly and to react with good business sense to challenging situations
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic and sense of ownership
  • Leads by example and demonstrates high personal energy, sense of ownership, and instills a culture of accountability throughout the team
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to lead people, work in a matrix organization, obtain results through others and influence change in areas outside of direct responsibilities
  • An effective communicator in both large and small group settings able to effectively and persuasively present information to top management, customers, and employees
