Purpose
Responsible for the Traffic/Transportation function of assigned business unit.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Direction
- Work closely with the Branch Manager and other Principals to direct and manage engineering teams in the office.
- Supervise and be responsible for the overall directions, coordination, and management of transportation engineering/traffic analysis and design teams.
- Management of daily plan production of teams, schedule, budget, quality control/assurance, collections, and opportunities.
At the Operational and Company Level
- Execute through administration, technical and management techniques on multiple projects to ensure the successful completion, on time and within budget.
- Effectively execute project contracts and develop internal staff.
- Assist in developing processes and provide input on achieving company and office operational excellence while growing their region and office.
Do the Work
- Client interaction, including preparation of new contract proposals, change orders, and attendance at project meetings.
- Lead and manage current project teams from bid until completion, while looking to obtain future business and performing own project duties.
- Mentor and direct junior staff, coordinate with project managers, and responsible for goal setting and performance management of engineering team.
- Provide work assignments and review performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
- Keep current on traffic/transportation engineering trends and developments to recommend changes in program or design methods.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of ten (10) years consulting and/or related DOT experience to include a minimum of three (3) years project management experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer.
- PTOE (Professional Transportation Operations Engineer) preferred.
- Must have demonstrated technical experience with a wide range of transportation projects and experience serving clients.
- Experienced with processing transportation studies and designs in relevant counties/municipalities.
- Thorough understanding of municipal and DOT codes and regulations.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead & develop an engineering and project management team.
- Experience with software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, HCS, and Syncro.
