The Director of Practice Analytics is responsible for financial analysis and management, revenue cycle improvement, and operational efficiency and optimization. Responsible for ensuring providers are using appropriate codes to ensure clean, outgoing claims, as well as analyze Accounts Receivable reports to identify negative trends. Must understand financial trends for each practice and convey this information to providers on minimum quarterly basis. This resource must exhibit a positive attitude, practice a team focused approach, possess excellent communication skills, maintain effective training skills and be professional in both appearance and approach.

Essential Functions:

  • Comprehensive and working knowledge of practice management systems to include Allscripts and working knowledge of practice management.
  • Must lead front desk and billing operations for Epic implementations.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers, standard office equipment, and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products required especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have advanced competency in data mining and analysis in a healthcare setting.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and have the ability to simultaneously manage several projects and to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including strong listening skills.
  • Must demonstrate strong development and customer service skills and ability to maintain a professional approach when dealing with HPI customers and partners
  • Must be able to accomplish tasks that require attention to detail, individual judgment, and adherence to confidentiality guidelines.
  • Must understand profit and loss management.

Functional Accountabilities:

  • Work with physician practices to audit and identify financial trends.
  • Develop training documentation for use in the physician practices as it relates to creating efficiencies for billing, coding, and patient collections.
  • Remain current on all regulatory changes related to ICD 9/10, HIPAA, Meaningful Use as well as all upcoming CMS projects (MACRA, MIPS, etc).
  • Assist in the transition of any new physicians into TPG, HPI customer or partner, to include billing and coding consultation.
  • Provide requested reports for statistics and management purposes.
  • Adheres to internal controls for applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.
  • Identifies ways to improve work processes, provide gained efficiencies and customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to partners and customers, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of HPI.
  • Demonstrates ability to articulate processes, issues and resolution.
  • Leads/monitors and completes projects to include planning, execution, communication, follow up and utilization of Basecamp.
  • Able to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Develop physician practice analyst reports when requested to include working with the practice management team to report to physician.
  • Prioritize emergency requests and resolve or escalate quickly.
  • Practices and implements best security practices at all times with all implementations and go lives.
  • Develop Epic training material, train front desk and billing team members and create strategies for workflow improvements.
  • Lead Epic reporting for build and workflow purposes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science required, Masters preferred
  • Five years of physician business office management/billing experience/ consulting required
  • Epic experience a plus.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Heavy work volume with high degree of accuracy and excellent customer service is required. May be required to work extended hours to meet critical deadlines.
