Director, Senior HR Business Partner Job at Amherst Holdings

This is an Austin, TX based position that is expected to be in office several days of the week. The ideal candidate will have broad based human resource experience partnering with business leaders to identify, advise and deliver value-added solutions. This player/coach will be accountable for ensuring successful business outcomes through influence, collaboration, and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the CPO, Head of Talent and Head of Total Rewards to create and implement initiatives and programs that provide leverage to the business and align with Amherst’s mission and ethos
- Develop and lead high impact projects in collaboration with Human Capital team members and stakeholders to execute strategic HR initiatives (including analysis of new business requirements, processes, systems and assessing creative methods of approach)
- Distribute work among team members (including self, this role will also execute project deliverables), set expectations, drive accountability, and deliver projects with excellence
- Build relationships with networks and partnerships across the company to understand evolving business needs, partner across the HC team to develop objectives and action plans that align with priorities of complex and vertically integrated business
- Act as a change-agent as the business evolves
- Use an analytical, data-driven approach to proactively work with business leaders and HC team members to consistency deliver results
- Diagnose individual, team, and organizational issues that are negatively impacting culture and performance and recommend and facilitate delivery of the appropriate programs/plans to increase performance
- Ability to work autonomously and make time, information, and decision-making more effective for CPO and HC team
- Anticipate and identify people-related risks, and develop plans and actions to mitigate risks and address matters
- Demonstrate the ability to quickly shift priorities to meet deadlines and effectively communicate, both verbal and written, with all levels of the organization
- Ability to dive deep into complex issues with agility to work successfully on a broad spectrum of employee issues and business challenges simultaneously
- Act as point of escalation for challenging HR situations
- Take decisive and well-rounded action in high-pressure situations, consulting with key stakeholders where appropriate
- Prepare high-quality materials and resources for both executive meetings and the Human Capital team
What you’ll need to have:
- Minimum of 10 years Human Resources experience with at least 5 years as Business Partner/Generalist in an evolving, geographically distributed organization
- Strong business acumen and proven record working with, influencing, and coaching diverse stakeholders and translating complex information across functions and distributed teams
- Experience in the design and implementation of enterprise solutions and change management, data analysis, and working with senior executives
- Extensive knowledge and experience in core HR processes (e.g., employee relations, workforce planning, compensation, full-cycle recruitment, learning, payroll and benefits administration, and compliance)
- Track record of effectively handling complex issues, and addressing sensitive information and difficult situations with tact, discretion, and confidentiality
- Intellectual curiosity to understand an evolving agile business and ability to encourage others to not accept things the way they are because it’s the way it has always been done
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage numerous projects with competing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills including persuasive communication, collaboration and influencing
- Advanced Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills required
- Experience in using HRIS systems – Workday preferred
