Job Summary:
Markel Corporation, a Fortune 500 Company, is seeking a Document Management Technician who is part of the Markel Specialty Insurance Operations team in the Omaha, NE office. This person is responsible for organizing, identifying, and distributing documents to appropriate representatives in the organization. The Document Management Technician provides excellent customer service to Markel’s customers, both internal and external, by focusing on efficient and accurate results.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify documents related to Claims, Underwriting, and Audit operations
- Organize operate existing automation programs
- Communicate appropriately with colleagues
- Achieve desired productivity standards set forth by the department leader
- Achieve desired accuracy standards set forth by the department leader
- Supervise work queues in document management systems
- Assist Underwriting team by supervising email boxes
- Archive, label and index emails and documents
- Open and sort incoming Mail
- Operate production scanning equipment used for incoming mail
- Participate in special projects and/or assist participants as needed by department leader.
Qualifications:
- Strong PC skills, especially in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong skills in verbal and written communication, analysis and problem solving, organization, time management, multitasking, able to work at a fast pace accurately
- Adequate customer service skills
- Detail-oriented
- Self-directed and highly productive with minimal direction
- Comfortable with high volume workloads, multiple priorities and production standards
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

As a result, we implemented a hybrid return to work strategy that allows for three days in the office every week.
The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.
