Dog Trainer Job at Sit Means Sit Dog Training Syracuse
We are looking for a full time Dog Trainer to join our team. This position will work directly with clients and their dogs on doing all dog training activities including basic puppy manners, house breaking, leash training, behavior modification, and any other training requirements.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducting or supporting group classes.
- Train Board & Train, Day Train and Private Lesson dogs while at the facility or in public areas.
- Working with veterinary offices, groomers, and others in the pet care industry to educate them on the Sit Means Sit method of training.
- Always maintaining a professional appearance and attitude when in public representing Sit Means Sit (including when in a branded vehicle or wearing branded attire).
- Continue to improve training skills and knowledge.
- Practicing safe training practices to ensure client, dog, personal and public safety – safety is always the number one concern and priority and when in doubt error on the side of safety.
- Helping to maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
- All other duties deemed necessary to provide safe, happy, confident, obedient dogs in a safe and productive working environment.
Employee Requirements
- Be available to work Tuesday-Saturday from 8am-8pm these hours may vary. The schedule is on a rotating basis (4 days on, 3 days off).
- No experience necessary but is appreciated.
- Must have general knowledge of dog behavior.
- Must be comfortable handling all sizes, ages, and temperaments of dogs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
