This position is located at the Red Rock Job Corps Center, in Lopez PA, and is NOT remote.
The Job Corps' mission is to help young people ages 16 thru 24 to improve the quality of their lives through vocational and academic training aimed at gainful employment and career pathways.
The Residential Advisor (RA) plays a vital role at our Center. As a RA you are responsible for modeling and monitoring the independent living skills of our students. Your key functions include facilitating community development and ensuring the effective management of the dorm by enforcing center rules and ensuring the overall safety of other students within the dormitory. Our RA’s are responsible for conducting room inspections to make sure the students’ living spaces are clean and safe. Most importantly, our Residential Advisors work to keep the young adults engaged by promoting recreation and dormitory activities as well as other case management-related duties.
SECOND SHIFT & SWING SHIFT POSITIONS ARE AVAILABLE
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one year of Job Corps or related program experience is required.
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
You must also possess the following awesome qualities: Great communication skills; Honesty & Integrity; Alertness; Patience/Compassion and most important.....a sense of humor & thick skin.
