Driver Manager - LCL Bulk Transport - Elizabethtown, PA
The Driver Manager is responsible for ensuring driver compliance and safety, managing the RDO, paperwork and ongoing driver retention efforts, ensuring the trucks are filled and maximizing equipment utilization.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for ensuring RDO (Requested Days Off) are accurate
- Responsible for approval of vacation days
- Responsible for compensation rules interpretation
- Responsible for ensuring effective and timely driver recruitment, training and retention process to maximize fleet utilization
- Daily call to drivers confirming schedule and load specifics
- Responsible to provide a safe work environment for all employees and follow company policies
- Responsible to work with drivers on Hours of Service Compliance
- Continuous monitoring of employees performance to ensure safety and productivity procedures are followed, provide constructive feedback for corrective behaviors and appropriate follow-up to ensure accountability
- Responsible for scanning and indexing all driver paperwork
- Responsible for providing designated support to the Terminal Manager
- Manages total mail messages from drivers on a timely basis
- Responsible for handling all driver payroll discrepancies
- Assists Dispatch/Planner with communication to driver regarding loads
- Assists Terminal Manager with payroll deadlines for terminal
- Provides terminal support in the Terminal Manager’s absence
- Completes and sends daily yard checks
- Working in PeopleNet and TMW
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Transportation/trucking experience, preferably to include management experience
