JOB TITLE: Creeler/ Support Operator
REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Creeler loads yarn and racks yarn on arbors in the creel,
splices, and strips yarn.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT- Ear protection, goggles only as needed
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to understand yarn labels and tell the difference between various types of yarn
Must be able to load yarn from the conveyor into buggies or onto carts and push
Must be able to rack yarn in creel on 6 levels of arbors, which includes bending and reaching
Must be able to work rotating shifts, 10 hours or more, and move about on foot, racking at a minimum of 7 seconds per package
Must be able to follow instructions, including training instructions such as standard work, creel boards, diagrams of creel, and verbal instructions from management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: FREQUENCY, AMOUNT, OR DESCRIPTION
Standing : Continuous for 10 hour shifts
Sitting : none
Moving : As required to get to all parts of the creel, between trees.
Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 22 pounds repetitively on a 10 hour shift
Climbing: Must be able to move up stairs, up to 3 flights as needed
Push/Pull: Must be able to push full carts of yarn
Visual Acuity: Must be able to distinguish yarn labels
Bending/Stooping: Must be able to access the lowest arbor in the creel which may be only 6” from the floor with full package of yarn in hands
Reaching: Must be able to access the top arbor of the creel, which includes lift a full package of yarn above head with arms extended
Other: Must be able to load, rack, splice according to time studies on standard work instructions in order to meet production
