Editorial SEO Specialist

Job Summary
We’re searching for an experienced technical SEO Strategist who will build the foundation for future organic traffic growth and retention. The SEO Strategist will develop and manage the SEO roadmap and vision for driving organic growth through our website. Responsible for executing an SEO powered content strategy to drive brand awareness, increase organic search traffic, increase sales, and maximize ROI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor SEO software/tool activities and site changes
• Establish benchmark web analytics, site ranking, traffic source distribution
• Perform keyword research to enhance evergreen content and prepare future content development
• Utilize SEO tools to perform topic analysis and determine keyword guidance to editorial
• Increase organic search by collaborating with editorial to produce SEO rich content
• Establish guidelines for creating optimized copy, headlines, and subheadings based on keyword analysis
• Optimize popular evergreen content by updating pages
• Develop keyword frequency guidelines for various content types/lengths (avoid keyword stuffing)
• Develop on-page strategies to increase page ranking for various content types
• Measure and track all progress towards goals and report key findings that help or hurt progress towards goals
• Identify 404’s, duplicate content, and other related items that have a negative impact on search ranking
• Collaborate with marketing to optimize paid search campaigns
• Evaluate competitor sites, customers sites, and industry related sites to identify opportunities content coverage
• Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO

Requirements and skills

• Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
• Solid understanding of how to build an SEO strategy that is focused on organic growth
• Expert knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Trends, Google Search Console, SEMRush, etc.
• Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO/ SEM

Equivalent Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree
