This position has a fantastic schedule of school hours with no nights, weekends or holidays!

As an Instructional Aide, you will:

• Meet with classroom teacher and/or immediate supervisor to discuss daily activities, academics, behaviors, social and/or medical concerns related to the students.
• Complete and submit paperwork, lesson plans, instructional data, and behavior data in a timely fashion as scheduled per students assigned.
• Use Agency-approved treatment techniques in supervising and educating students.
• Demonstrate familiarity with behavior management and behavior education techniques used at GLS.
• Act as a role model and set an appropriate example for students, staff, and the community.
• Engage students in active learning.

Schedule, Wage, & Benefit Information

• Hours will follow our school schedule which is on-going year round. During times when the students do not have school (holidays, vacations) there will not be scheduled hours, but there is an option to pick up in our residential program. During our summer session when students are in school for shortened days, there may be fewer hours.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
• At least one year of experience working with special needs students preferred
• A demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and effectively solve problems
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining self-composure and self-control
• Effective working alone and as a member of a team
