Position Summary:

We are actively seeking a EHS Manager for soy operations to join our rapidly growing organization. This person will develop, execute, and monitor local EHS program to ensure Benson Hill is aligned with industry standards. The EHS Manager will work closely with leadership to establish and maintain a proactive safety culture for our manufacturing ingredient sites.

You Will (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):

• Lead a cross-functional team across multiple manufacturing plants team to influence/drive change
• Give direction to local safety team members to create, implement and maintain safety standards, procedures and polices in compliance with safety regulations that promotes a safe working environment
• Provide technical support and professional expertise to the operations leadership
• Coach, counsel and develop operations leadership on environmental and safety opportunities and issues
• Lead a team with capability to execute multiple concurrent programs
• Problem solving with a cross-functional team
• Detect opportunities to deliver outstanding results in EHS Operations
• Collaborate with plant leadership to ensure EHS practices are applied and reinforced
• Experience responding effectively to emergency situations such as fires, spills, and injuries
• Work independently and make recommendations for a corporate operations EHS program.
• Provide practical and technical expertise, advice, and solutions
• Identify ways to promote EHS behaviors & develop skills, such as training & communication to drive behavior change
• Monitor plant and business unit effectiveness for corrective actions closure of high-risk items from audit, events, and pro-active safety metrics
• Report progress with compliance, regulations, waste reductions, environmental assessments etc.
• Oversee operational protocols and perform risk assessments for safety compliance (lockout/tagouts, confined space, etc.) and environmental compliance including air, water and solid waste permitting.

You have: (Competencies and Qualifications)

• A bachelor's degree in occupational health, safety, engineering or a related field is highly preferred.
• 6+ years direct experience in EHS in plant operations or manufacturing environment
• Experience with serious, fatal, injury potential incidents and high potential exposures
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental regulations
• Knowledge of soy manufacturing facility/environment is a plus
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Proven organizational skills
• Ability to work both in a team and as individual without supervision
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and decision-making skills is essential
• Ability to travel to on-site manufacturing plants 30-50% of the time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
