JOB DUTIES include: under the direction of a Journeyman Electrician, performing electrical repairs to provide continuous operation of machinery and equipment; installing and commissioning high voltage underground/surface transformers, splices, box’s, switches; troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, and repairing instrument & electric equipment underground, in the concentrator, and on the surface; participating in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), working with electrical schematics.
QUALIFICATIONS include:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Enrollment in an accredited electrical apprenticeship program.
- Previous experience in a mine setting preferred.
- Experience with high/med/low voltage power distribution systems preferred.
- Knowledge of power monitoring equipment and installations preferred.
