Electrical AutoCAD Revit Designer Job at Canfield Engineering & Integration
Seeking an Electrical Revit Designer with Water/Wastewater and Industrial design experience. Will be required to Interface with design team, project managers and clients to lead efforts for the development of EI&C design packages and on-site construction support. Responsibilities and Duties Required:
- Prepares typical CAD electrical design drawings such as: single line diagrams; power, lighting, grounding, and other systems plans; electrical area classification plans; electrical equipment arrangement plans; cable tray layout plans and sections; conduit and cable schedules; motor control schematics.
- Prepares CAD electrical design drawings of miscellaneous Electrical systems such as lighting, grounding, electrical heat tracing, fire alarm, public address, security, card access, etc.
- Perform layout and input of marked ‐ up drawings into Revit in accordance with Company Standards.
- Creation of minor mark ‐ ups and input of same.
- Setup of Revit views for use by the Company Project team including electronic document filing and all other facets of the electronic drawings and/or model.
- Prepares CAD electrical design drawings of miscellaneous Electrical systems such as lighting, grounding, electrical heat tracing, fire alarm, public address, security, card access, etc.
- Determine, select, and specify electrical equipment, instrumentation and controls required to monitor, operate and control mechanical, process, and electrical systems.
- Interface with other design disciplines.
- Possible On-site work
Responsibilities and Duties Preferred:
- Develop Power System Studies
- Develop EI&C portion of P&ID's
- Produce logic diagrams, control narratives (sequence of operations) and wiring diagrams.
- Develop instrument index.
- Interpret and apply codes, job procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Provide field assistance as required.
- Monitor and review on-site installation, start-up and operation of instrumentation and controls.
- Perform inspections of equipment as required.
- PLC/HMI Architecture Design including Ethernet, ControlNet and Remote I/O.
- Travel, as required, to ensure the successful execution of project and/or department goals.
- Develop control panel designs.
- Select and specify instruments and control valves.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience
- 2+ years of experience with electrical projects involving power and lighting systems
- AutoCAD, Revit and MS Office Suite Software
- Working knowledge with NEC and NFPA Code Standards
- Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Great people skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering helpful
- 5 to 10 years’ experience preferred
