SA-TECH provides realistic threat capabilities for Operational and Developmental testing and training with the U.S. Army in numerous locations throughout the country. We are currently looking to hire a Lead Electronics Technician, Maintenance III to oversee our work center at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico (Orogrande, NM).
The Lead Electronics Technician will perform maintenance duties with the rest of the team but will supervise the team and oversee our Work Center. This includes determining, defining, assigning and monitoring work orders. The Lead applies technical knowledge to solve routine and uncommon problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the inter-relationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequences, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This Lead generally works with minimum to no supervision and supplies technical guidance, as required, to the lower-level technicians on the team.
Duties/requirements include (but are not limited to):
- This is a Lead role and requires the ability to manage personnel, manage shift schedules, determine and break down work orders, assign work orders to the appropriate technicians, maintain morale and provide leadership in the Work Center.
- Work includes cross-utilization into other positions that fall within their scope of work
- This position will apply technical knowledge of electronics, mechanical, and computer skills in support of operations and routine maintenance on EW & Radar systems and their peripheral equipment.
- Operations will include setting up EW & Radar systems at remote locations, operating the systems in support of test missions, and system tear-down once testing is complete.
Work Conditions:
- Conditions will vary as most of the work will be accomplished outdoors on the range throughout the year so temperatures and outside conditions will fluctuate seasonally and situationally.
- Work will include 45% standing, 25% walking, 20% sitting, 5% reaching, and 5% lifting.
- You must be capable of lifting 50-100 pounds when assisted by other employees.
- Shifts hours will vary by mission requirements and you must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
- You must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
Requirements:Education/Experience/Skills:
- High School diploma and an Associate’s Degree or appropriate military training.
- Six (6) or more years’ experience in electro-mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation-related experience in basic RF and electronics may supplement education.
- Demonstrable leadership qualities and previous experience leading a team is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and software would be very helpful.
- Fluency with computers, use of test equipment (such as spectrum analyzers, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes), and basic hand tools to support EW & Radar systems.
- Must be able to work independently supporting operations and maintenance efforts with minimal direction. Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to deploy to both CONUS and OCONUS.
- Valid US Driver License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of your work employment.
- Ability to obtain a Class B License.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must obtain a U.S. DoD Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to start and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
- All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
