Elementary School Supervision Aide Job at Los Angeles Unified School District
This is a 3 hour/day, Monday-Friday position. The name and location of the school is 96th Street STEAM Academy at 1471 E. 96th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90002. We are located in the community of Watts. Candidates must show proof of COVID 19 vaccination.
Supervision Aides assist in maintaining the proper environment and student behavior at school during outdoor activity times.
Typical Duties include:
1. supervising students in the cafeteria, indoor assembly areas, outdoor eating areas, halls, restrooms, on the playground, and in other areas to which assigned.
2. enforcing activity and safety rules in school buildings and on school property.
3. reporting problems of a serious nature, including recurring behavior problems and safety hazards to the Principal or other designated employee.
4. working with the school staff in alleviating behavior problems occurring during supervision periods.
5. performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics
1. Knowledge of safety rules and conditions to be maintained by students.
2. Knowledge of standards of courtesy and behavior expected of students.
3. Knowledge of games and sports in which students participate.
4. Ability to maintain acceptable standards of behavior among students.
5. Ability to maintain poise, and exercise tact and good judgment.
6. Ability to work effectively with District personnel, community representatives, parents, and students.
Experience
Experience in youth work is desirable.
Education
Graduation from high school or its equivalent is desirable.
