Founded in 2019, Elephant and the Dove is a Mexican restaurant with an ambiance, atmosphere and cuisine combined to form a dining experience like no other. The menu features authentic and finely prepared, yet affordable, traditional Mexican food as well as a full-service bar complete with signature cocktails.
Elephant and the Dove has immediate opportunities available to join our team. We are hiring a Host/Hostess to attend to our guests.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsible for warmly greeting every guest at the front door as they walk in. Before service reading through every reservation to pass on any dietary restrictions or celebration occasions for any of our guests. Guest notes to make sure the experience is personalized as possible.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare Station before shift:

• Ensure candles are on porch stairs.
• Ensure torch lights are on.
• Ensure that there are numbers are on coat hangers.
• Ensure all reservations are confirmed.
• Ensure candles on all tables have been lit.

Closing your section:

• Ensure porch is fully broken down.
• Ensure stair candles are brought in and turned off.
• Ensure torch lights are turned off.
• Ensure porch is completely clear and clean.
• Ensure the coat closet is completely clear, clean, and organized.
• Ensure the Hostess stand is clean, neat, and organized.
• Ensure reservations for following day are confirmed.

• Obeying and following all handbook guidelines and procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB

• Walk/ be on your feet for a long period of time.
• Stand for a long period of time.
• Repeat the same movements.
• Use your hands to handle, control, feel objects and tools.
• Lift between 25 and 50 pounds.
• Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
• See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
• Be physically active for long periods of time without getting tired or out of breath.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Employee must be able to use:

• Basic computer skills.
• Basic writing and communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is primarily:

• Fast paced.
