ENDEAVOR FEED OPERATIONS - UTILITY 1st Shift

FLSA Status: Full Time/non-exempt

Reports to: Location Manager

Summary: Endeavor Ag and Energy has an opportunity for an Operations Specialist at the Holland Feed Mill. You will work extensively with cooperative customers in insuring they are provided the highest level of service. You must be customer focused, be hard working, and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

1st Shift Hours: 6am - 4pm; Monday - Friday; Saturday as needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Be responsible for all feed mill operations in a safe and efficient manner
• Unload product and loading trucks and train cars
• Monitor and maintain quality of inventory
• Operate computerized feed batching equipment to manufacture livestock feeds
• Assist with production scheduling, inventory planning and control
• Assist with maintenance and repair as needed
• Mix and prepare livestock feeds efficiently and in a manner that assures accuracy and high quality
• Sequence and record all feed manufactured during the shift
• Determine proper routing and distribution for manufactured feeds
• Operate pelleting equipment efficiently in a manner that assures high quality
• Perform necessary sequencing, recording, and documenting of all feed manufactured during the shift
• Perform regular and periodic housecleaning processes and record keeping
• Maintain records on all grain equipment including legs, conveyors, grain cleaner, vehicles, and all facility equipment
• Oversee, assist, and/or supervise as required the following areas: Ingredient receiving, Grain processing, Finished feed routing, Sampling and quality assurance, Loading bulk delivery trucks, Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment
• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers
• Will be able to work extended hours to meet business demands
• Observe and enforce all company policies and procedures, promoting safety in the workplace and acting in a safe manner at all times
• Perform duties of bulk delivery driver if a CDL is in possession
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or GED; preferred experience in agriculture, grain handling and operating milling.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills and Reasoning

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.
