Position Title: Human Resources: Engagement & Retention Coordinator

(Full-time, 30+ hours per week; $22 per hour)

At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, we provide both children and mentors with the essential tools to develop lifelong, purposeful relationships. We serve more than 2,100 children in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Pasco, Citrus, Hernando, Sumter, Alachua & Marion counties.

Summary: The Engagement & Retention Coordinator (ERC) for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, Inc (BBBS-TB) responsibilities include supporting key retention strategies and reducing our agency’s overall turnover rate. ERC will function as the staff’s liaison for all trainings, surveys, wellness, and recognition programs. The ERC staff will work in our Pinellas County office location in Largo, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Primary focus on promoting employee retention at our agency.
  • Human Resource Onboarding Functions: Posting open positions, screening resumes, assisting with hiring decisions; Administering drug screening tests and background checks; Employment verification on new hires.
  • Conducts new hire orientations.
  • Exit interviews and reports and disseminates trends.
  • Maintain personnel records.
  • Serve as point of contact for staff benefit providers.
  • Responsibility for scheduling and or conducting training and development programs for BBBS-TB staff.
  • Payroll backup.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s in human resources management or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of Human Resources or Employee engagement experience required.
  • Strong Communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
