ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY: Provide technical direction for product development and specific drawings for manufacturing guidance. Works directly with sales personnel to develop customers’ concepts, and assures that the sales department and customers are properly accommodated by providing timely and accurate drawings. Assures that drawings are provided with accepted engineering practices and that they meet customer specifications.
These designs will also be rendered with consideration for maximizing manufacturing efficiencies.

DUTIES:

• Provides supervision and technical support for all engineering services, including

CAD personnel

• Provide accurate and on-time answers to sales department and customer requests
• Provide technical support for all sales and manufacturing personnel
• Ensures that finished products meet customer specifications
• Assists with design and development of new products
• Assists in training and/or interacting with engineering team members to help meet established goals and standards
• Conduct cadence meetings with department, both team and 1-1 settings
• Attend production, quality and safety meetings to keep abreast of corporate needs and policies
• Requires clean work areas in the department
• Other duties that may be assigned on an as-required basis

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for prototypes and first article builds within the facility.
• Holds employees accountable to follow procedures detailed in the Company

Handbook and in other policy documents and follows all Safety Rules and
Regulations

• Maintains a safe work environment, making certain that anyone around the workstations will not be in jeopardy to injury
• Administers appropriate and fair disciplinary action whenever necessary
• Demonstrate a professional attitude when approaching work assignments and when working with customers and sales personnel
• Display an awareness to maximize the utilization of materials and to minimize waste of materials
• Display a sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks
• Assists in developing solutions to problems
• Assures the quality of work produced is acceptable to company standards and specifications
• Performs job tasks with Worker Safety Being The Priority
• Maintains good attendance

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possess a four-year degree in mechanical engineering or have commensurate work experience
• Possess supervisory training or have commensurate experience
• Ability to read and interpret job orders and to understand specifications and technical drawings
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills
• Possess proven Human Relations skills
• Ability to manage multi tasks in a fast paced environment
• Capable of learning new skills as needed
• Must be detail oriented

JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

• Reports directly to the Director of Engineering

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally, sitting most of the time, and only brief periods of standing and walking.
• Requires minimal travel for training or customer store visits as needed.
