Haley & Aldrich is growing we are currently seeking an entry-level Environmental Design Engineer who will work under the direction and supervision of more senior staff. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company. Primary responsibilities for this position would focus on engineering design and construction support related to remedy design and implementation.
This full-time position will be in our Bedford, NH office. The Bedford Office is a close knit and collaborative work environment, and the position will include involvement in a wide range of multi-disciplinary project teams including Site Investigation and Geotechnical practitioners.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
- Edit / update design drawings in AutoCAD / Civil-3D, edit / update design specifications, and draft or support preliminary engineering calculation sets.
- Provide construction monitoring/on-site engineering observation during the implementation of remedial projects.
- Understand and comply with Company and Client Health & Safety protocols, including focusing on safety improvements through the engineering design process, drafting and adhering to site specific Health and Safety Plans prepared for each project site, and participating in site safety briefings and audits by both contractors and Haley & Aldrich.
- Comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter.
In addition to the position's Primary Responsibilities, the position could also include and/or support:
- Conduct routine data collection, modeling, and analysis using approved procedures appropriate for their discipline.
- Compile, reduce, analyze, manage, and report field, instrumentation, geological, and/or environmental data.
- Use of various geotechnical and environmental instrumentation and equipment.
- Environmental Site investigations and assessments
- Perform historical site review and review applicable regulations, as appropriate.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- B.S. degree in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering or other related technical disciplines
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience, including relevant internship / Co-Op experience
- Familiarity with AutoCAD platform including HydroCAD, Civil 3D, and/or other design applications (i.e.; REVIT, BIM).
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Holds or has applied for initial professional certification in their core discipline, where applicable, such as Engineer in Training certification.
- Demonstrate proactive problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Take an active role in ownership of each assigned task.
- Follow up with project managers and senior staff on assigned tasks.
- Demonstrates willingness to take on multiple projects and meet project deadlines.
- Demonstrate an interest in continuous learning and professional development.
- Work collaboratively with others in the Company.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to plan for and implement field assignments independently.
- Ability to travel to temporary assignments across the U.S.
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license
- Must have a reliable form of transportation to travel to job sites and the office
- OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training preferred but not required
