SUMMARY
CN3S is seeking a full-time Senior Geologist to support our environmental team serving the USACE and NAVFAC. This work involves environmental compliance projects for the federal government including but not limited to pollution prevention, hazardous waste management, RCRA/CERCLA, and water quality compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Technical lead for the following activities
• USMC Environmental Management System (EMS)
• Hazardous waste management and inspections
• Environmental audits
• RCRA/CERCLA investigations
• Water Quality compliance
• Regulatory framework of environmental compliance activities for pollution prevention
• Prepare necessary technical reports

• Directly interacts with the client.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

• None

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in environmental science, geology or engineering and a minimum of 6 years of directly applicable experience. A master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Experience working at Federal installations.
• 40 CFR Part 112, EPA EPCRA reporting, and RCRA/CERCLA investigations
• Hazardous waste management and inspections
• Ability to create and elaborate on project technical reports.
• RCRA/CERCLA remedial investigations.
• Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage time and project resources.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Microsoft Word and Excel, other applicable database, and office automation products, to include Adobe Pro.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally in writing (to include technical documentation). Must have excellent customer service.
• Ability to work in a remote environment under a variety of weather conditions as needed.
• Successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen.
• Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Remote work with travel to various USACE and Marine Corps facilities.
