Event Production and Inventory Control Specialist Job at The Moody Bible Institute of Chicago
Under general supervision of the ITS Technology Services Manager, the Event Production and Inventory Control Specialist will oversee A/V equipment set-ups across campus and be a “hands on” operator, supporting the many facets of event production as needed (Audio/Video/Lighting – AVL).

- Provides excellent customer service through friendly, efficient, and prompt communication with customers using appropriate channels. Focuses on serving the customer’s best interest using available resources and providing working alternatives whenever possible.
- Oversees all A/V set ups (not requiring a technician to be present for the duration of the event) across campus using ITS staffing.
- Assists with the implementation and execution of MBI events on and off campus which require technician(s) to operate for the duration of the event. Implementation encompasses the setting up and operation of AVL equipment and systems (e.g. audio mixing, operating graphics computer, video camera operation, light board operation).
- Assists with the training and development of part-time student event techs to support MBI events and chapels on campus.
- Oversees the Torrey-Gray and Dryer Auditorium HyFlex classroom teaching/learning environments, ensuring equipment is working properly and scheduling part-time student event techs to support classes.
- Oversees video and teleconferencing setups across campus.
- Actively monitors AV Requests through the Oracle Service Cloud system, updates, and assigns tickets as needed through completion of requested services.
- Manage all aspects of the A/V equipment inventory available for checkout, including access to the equipment, keeping track of chain of custody, inspecting equipment on its return, and collaborating with the A/V Engineering Team to test and perform maintenance on equipment to ensure its proper functioning.
- Ensures effective use of Music & Media Arts Division studios and equipment by implementing and enforcing policies and procedures, overseeing scheduling, and consistently monitoring usage
- Maintains the official records of all inventoried equipment, including the initial inventorying of equipment, assigning identification numbers for equipment items, tracking equipment moves, reporting changes in equipment status, and providing reports relating to property control.
- Performs related and special duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience providing high quality customer service
- 4 - 6 years of experience working with AVL equipment in event production
- Advanced experience working with video-conferencing applications (Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
- List ways this will be measured: test result, interview questions, references Etc.
- Experience working with advanced functionality of Microsoft Excel
- Inventory Control system experience
- Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working within higher education
- Experience mixing live audio (e.g. Church services, bands, etc.)
- Experience using graphics presentation software (Power Point, ProPresenter 6/7)
- Experience using digital audio workstation and video editing software (Reaper, Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro)
- Bachelor’s Degree

This is a full-time position: Monday through Friday Hours, typically 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Some weekend hours may be required for special events.
This role typically works from Moody’s downtown Chicago location.
