Events Staging Department Head Job at Atomic Professional Audio
POSITION SUMMARY:
Atomic Professional Audio offers a competitive salary based on experience.
This position’s principal responsibility is to perform and manage the day-to-day work associated with staging equipment and to implement the overall workflow necessary to ensure the timely and accurate movement of staging equipment in and out of Atomic Pro Audio’s warehouse (“Shop”). Planning, designing and onsite installations will be included in these responsibilities.
This position travels approximately 50% of the time.
Essential Functions:
1. Shop & Events
- At events: Directly supervise stagehands to ensure accurate and safe assembly of the equipment.
- Drive Atomic Pro Audio owned and rented vehicles, not limited to cars, vans and box trucks.
- Will be required to get a Class B CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
- Some overnight stays will be necessary during extended events.
- Oversee, and as may be necessary physically participates in, the loading and unloading of equipment transport trucks.
- Oversee the check-in of equipment returned from events to ensure it is all accounted for and is in proper working order, and placement of the equipment back into its proper inventory location in the warehouse.
- At all times, emphasize and enforce safe work practices, on and off-site.
2. Inventory
- Inventory control: Maintain the staging inventory counts, labels and facilitate the change-over to new inventory software.
- Perform or facilitate repairs of damaged equipment.
- Schedule regular maintenance, including but not limited to painting, greasing and inspections of the entire inventory.
3. Schedule Planning/Coordination
- Participate in a weekly management staff meeting at which both the previous week’s event-specific activity is reviewed and future business activity.
- From information obtained from staff meetings and Atomic’s event-organization software, plan the timing of equipment assembly. Given the nature of Atomic’s business, this may occasionally require working long days and on weekends and holidays.
- Coordinate with the shop manager to ensure the assembly of equipment is completed timely so as not to delay the scheduled loading or departure of trucks.
4. Other/Miscellaneous Duties
- Use software to facilitate design and drawings necessary to produce documents for internal staff and clients.
- Attend site visits to gather information about specific events.
- Participate in trainings as necessary to become a certified mobile stage technician.
- Participate in trainings as necessary to learn new software, advance safety, and skill sets.

- A combination of education and experience will be considered for this role
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication, management, customer service, and organizational skills are required.
- Must be detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to adhere to procedures and work in a team environment
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to commute or relocate.
- Computer skills are required: Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, search engines, internet navigation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to reliably commute to the Atomic Pro Audio shop in North Clarendon, VT
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment and on the road at venue locations including outdoor locations
- Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
- Occasional exposure to inclement weather including temperature extremes
- Must be able to work safely for long hours in loud environments
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 250 lbs.
- Must have the ability to drive (non-CDL) box trucks up to 26’ in length
- This position will be required to obtain a CDL-B driver’s license
- This position will receive forklift training and certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $44,200.00 - $57,200.00 per year
