We believe that every student, even the most accomplished ones, can use a little help with optimizing their study habits. For that reason, we incorporate skills like staying organized, planning ahead to reduce procrastination, and study techniques into most everything we do. We offer four services: Subject Tutoring, Executive Function Coaching, SAT and ACT preparation, and full cycle college counseling.

At Educational Connections, you'll have the opportunity to make a huge difference in the lives of students through completely individualized, one-on-one, online tutoring.

• Meet with students in a 1 on 1 virtual setting using Lessonspace, Google Meets, or other video meeting platform
• Use interactive activities to teach executive function skills such as organization, time management, study techniques, and planning within the student's assigned schoolwork and classes.
• Assist students with homework, projects, and test prep in humanities based classes (English, History, etc.) You will not be asked to support Math needs.
• Communicate with parents and EC Tutoring Staff as needed to set up session times, address concerns, or provide updates.
• Complete session notes within 24 hours of completing a tutoring session in our Tutor/Student Management system
• Attend paid tutor development webinars - Tutors are also invited to join EC Tutoring’s parent webinars which cover a wide range of useful topics.
• Utilize a wide range of online resources and tools to make lessons interactive and engaging. Popular tools include NearPod and Jamboard.

Job Requirements:

• Hold a valid teaching certification in any state
• Live in the Eastern Standard or Central Time Zone
• 10+ years of high school/middle school English/Humanities teaching experience OR 10 year of combined teaching and counseling experience
• Experience working with students with learning differences or special education needs including but not limited to ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and autism.
• Experience in AP or IB coursework is strongly preferred.
• Be able to set and uphold appropriate boundaries with students and parents
• Be able to create engaging and interactive activies to keep students engaged
• Be available to tutor up to 20 hours per week *
• Because this is a salaried position, coaches must be available between 3pm and 9pm, Monday through Thursday and have availablity on Sunday's during the school year.

Because of the heavy workload starting in the early afternoon, we will only consider those without a current full-time job for our salaried positions. Look for our Hourly Study Skills Coach position if you don't qualify for the salaried position!

* Salaried Tutors must tutor a minimum of 53 hours a month. Any hours worked over 53 a month will be paid at an additional hourly rate. Salaried tutors must be able to tutor a wide range of grade and subjects.
