KanPak® Penn Yan is expanding! We are seeking an energetic, skilled Maintenance Technician for openings in our facility in Penn Yan, NY.

Entry Level Maintenance Mechanic Schedule: 11pm-7am (5-6 days/week)

Training will take place on 1st shift (7am-3pm) for approximately 90 days.

Base starting rate: $19.00/hour +

Eligible associates will receive a $2.00 per hour shift premium, for hours worked upon achieving perfect attendance for the completed work week. This shift premium is calculated weekly and paid on the following week. Any absence, tardy, or early shift departure prior to release of shift, regardless of whether the absence results in points, will disqualify an associate for the purposes of perfect attendance. Company holidays (if not scheduled to work) and non-scheduled workdays (department down days) do not count as absences for the purposes of this procedure.

JOB SUMMARY:

Skilled position responsible for the efficient performance of a variety of building, installation, maintenance and repair tasks in one or more of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical repair, welding, sheet metal work, auto mechanics and wastewater facilities repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Troubleshooting complicated mechanical systems and monitoring operations throughout the facility including mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

· Perform preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance of process equipment throughout the plant.

· Troubleshoot minor plumbing, building repair and maintenance. Responsible for monitoring equipment performance.

· Recognizing deviation from “normal operation” and rectifying it.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· High school diploma or GED, plus two (2) year of experience as a skilled worker in one or more of the electrical, mechanical, or construction trades.

· Mechanical aptitude to disassemble and reassemble all types of equipment.

· Must have reliable transportation.

· Must have experience with electrical, electro-mechanical, or pneumatics.

· Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings preferred.

· Experience with troubleshooting preferred.

· Must have excellent verbal and written skills.

· Must have strong problem-solving skills.

· Must be a self-motivated individual.

· Ability to work well with others and be a team member.

· Must have safe work habits.

· Must show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work.

· Must be comfortable with heights and confined spaces.
