OPERATION MANAGER - JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Operations Manager to lead and maintain the operations department at the Graduate Hotel Roosevelt Island. Responsibilities will include leading working with selected vendors, engineering teams, administration work, and vendor maintenance coordination.
The Operations Manager is responsible for all F&B properties infrastructure, public spaces and ensuring all aspects meet compliance requirements. As the Operations Manager, you will maintain the brand's integrity by following company standards for quality, cleanliness, guest satisfaction, safety and security.
A successful Operation Manager will have a solid understanding in all maintenance processes and health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will also have aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting, inventory, training, and managing maintenance technicians.

Service
- Control inventory for outlets operation supplies.
- Work with management to continuously improve standard operations procedures.
- Maintain budgets, expenses and activity logs
- Daily tasks may include not limited assisting the events department with events setups & moves, carpet and tile floor repair, painting, exterior projects, routine Smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarm, kitchen and restaurant equipment, electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Responsible for knowing Emergency Procedures and partnering with Health & Safety team to conduct walkthroughs to mitigate risk by proactively supporting the operation
- Ensure all storages and maintenance shops are kept organized and clean consistently.
- Must maintain strong communication of all projects, issues, timeline and milestone dates
- Work with the Event Director and team to help facilitate events
- Maintains warmth and hospitality in all correspondence with guests.
- Maintain sanitation to DOH standards; Keep work areas clean and organized
- Maintain facility of any DOH or OSHA/workplace safety violations.
- Update knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities
- Be a team player—support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Director.
- Manage AV set-up and live band coordination.
- Partner with outsourced facilities services vendors to ensure project deliverables are met and tickets are addressed in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Create outlet specific maintenance guides and best practices for managers & chefs.
- Gather, review, and negotiate contracts in new and existing markets to manage budget and ensure the highest quality of service.
- Communicate project status and task updates as needed to Managers, Directors, and chefs for each venue.
- Ability to complete on-site maintenance tasks such as meeting vendors and contractors that are there to perform a survey or on site work.
Team and Development
- Understand and communicate with values and brand philosophy to customers and staff and set the tone for a positive work environment
- Manage daily scheduling of vendor maintenance.
- Ensures training materials for the outlets team are current, relevant, and adhered to
- Is actively involved in the continued development of the entire outlet team
- Active in events meetings, manager meetings, and pre-shifts.
- Develops and nurtures a culture of accountability, integrity, hospitality, pride, and teamwork
- Provide clear, transparent, honest feedback to the team on performance measures.
- Work with receiving departments to ensure all linen orders arrive in full in good condition. Ensure linen orders are replaced after checking par levels to maintain a consistent and usable par level.

Requirements
- 3-years minimum of relative experience with a proven track record of executing projects on time and budget while maintaining a clean, safe and approachable environment

- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
