Midland Basin

ConocoPhillips holds approximately 376,000 total net acres in the Midland Basin, which includes approximately 266,000 unconventional net acres located in the heart of West Texas. Following the Concho acquisition, the company now operates over 2,200 vertical wells and 930 horizontal wells across Midland, Upton, Andrews, Martin, and Glasscock counties. Heritage company Concho began horizontal development drilling in 2013, primarily through single-well pads without offsets-focused on the Wolfcamp B formation. Today’s focus is on full-scale development utilizing large multi-well pad projects targeting both Spraberry and Wolfcamp reservoir targets. Net production in 2021 averaged 136 MBOED, with approximately 70% of production from liquids.

Description

If you are selected as the Facilities Engineering Analyst, you will be working within the Midland Basin (MB) asset. The position is in Midland, TX, with assets located in west Texas. The MB assets are comprised of tank batteries, water gathering systems, central processing facilities, and salt water disposal facilities.

The MB Facilities Engineering teams are accountable for the design and technical integrity of all surface facilities within the MB assets across their lifecycle. The Facilities Engineering Analyst will support delivery of new projects and upgrades of existing facilities primarily through management of costs and documentation.

You may be eligible for the voluntary hybrid office work (HOW) program that is designed to provide employees with flexibility while maintaining the advantages of in-person engagement.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Initiate, facilitate, and close out AFEs through Generwell
  • Track spend against budget, including VOWD (value of work done) and reconciliation of actuals to accruals
  • Track, review, and audit invoices
  • Report costs into accounting, finance, and planning systems
  • Coordinate engineering documentation between the facilities engineering team, 3rd parties, and other ConocoPhillips groups
  • Ensure engineering work is completed, captured, and filed in the appropriate document management systems
  • Update SAP data for new projects and upgrades
  • Manage team data systems (shared drives, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Build, maintain, and optimize cost reporting processes and tools (e.g PowerBI dashboards)
  • Build, maintain, and optimize document management workflows

In addition to the core responsibilities listed, the Analyst will have the opportunity to develop experience in data analytics, scheduling, engineering drafting/design, and other elements of facilities engineering, depending on interests, skills, and business needs.

Qualifications


Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
  • Associates/technical degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Data Management, other related technical field relevant to the oil and gas industry or foreign equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in the onshore oil and gas industry
  • 3+ years of experience with cost tracking, reporting and analysis
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Word

Preferred:

  • Associates/technical degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Data Management, other related technical field relevant to the oil and gas industry or foreign equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in the onshore oil and gas industry
  • 1+ years of experience with Generwell
  • 1+ years of experience with management of SharePoint libraries and workflows
  • 1+ years of experience with creation and management of data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Spotfire
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right
  • Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
  • Listens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results
