JOB DESCRIPTION
Facilities Manager
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining and overseeing our campus facilities, grounds, and
technology to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for our ministries. The duties include
negotiating contracts with services providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations, and
coordinating maintenance. This is a full time, exempt position that reports directly to the Executive
Director. This position is eligible for benefits.
The duties and responsibilities of this position require approximately 40-45 hours per week. The hours
must be flexible to meet the needs and demands of the position.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures all facilities are clean and maintained according to organizational policy and procedures.
- Oversees and supervises the quality of work for other employees to ensure that all tasks are

- Manages and reviews facilities and technology service contracts and licenses. Ensure vendors are
- Conducts and documents routine facilities inspection.
- Schedules routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors, facilities committee
- Checks completed work by vendors and contractors
- Forecasts, allocates and supervises the financial and physical resources of facilities management
- Assists in the development of the annual operations budget and capital budget. Responsible for
- Communicates workplace safety and technology security precautions to employees
- Ensures proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system
- Oversight of technology systems administration and technology troubleshooting.
- Ensures weather, security and emergency preparedness procedures are in implemented properly
- Maintain personnel files, updated job descriptions, and hires, trains, and conducts performance
- Serve as liaison to the Facilities Committee and the Information Technology Committee and
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, residents, employees,
- Attend and represent Rowan Helping Ministries at community meetings and workshops.
- Local travel.
- Perform other related work duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Should be able to stoop, lift up to 40 lbs. and consistently maneuver within the office area. This position
works where needed on campus and should be mobile to access various environments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 21 years old; possess a four-year college degree in management or comparable
experience in the field. Skills required to be successful in this position include:
Technical: strong project management, problem-solving, information technology, general construction
and maintenance.
Soft Skills: decision making, customer services, negotiating, leadership, and professionalism
Must be compassionate and work with diverse people and can establish rapport with staff, vendors,
volunteers, and clients. Must be detailed oriented, systems thinker and organized. Works as part of a
team. Must be able to demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills. Able to adapt in a fast-paced
environment. Must possess vehicle and valid North Carolina driver’s license.
