Factory Supervisor Job at Shullsburg Creamery
The Cheese Factory Production Supervisor is responsible for the overall performance of the Cheese Production Department as it pertains to labor management, production scheduling, cheese yield and system flow, while focusing on safety, quality, cost and employee environment. Experience with all aspects of food safety and packaging and inventory control is a major factor in orchestrating the duties of this position. Duties include actively promoting and supporting food safety and product quality programs (i.e. GMPs, HACCP, preventative controls, quality, food defense and sanitation standards) and initiatives working closely with management, operations and purchasing staff to ensure accurate production flows.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree or some college preferred.
- A minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing industry, preferably in the food and beverage arena. A minimum of two years of that experience managing a team or department.
- Must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of regulatory laws and responsibilities as it relates to processing, filling and general facility standards.
- Proficient understanding of budgeting and cost control.
- Proven track record of improved results in the areas of quality, safety, service and cost.
- Ability to assess, evaluate, and solve problems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
- Strong team player with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
- Ability to successfully influence peers and senior leadership.
- Ability to recruit, hire, develop, coach, and mentor talent for current and future needs.
- Ability to recognize opportunities to simplify processes and create efficiencies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $59,000.00 - $64,000.00 per year
