Position Overview
A primarily teaching position in the Industrial Engineering Technology program in the Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics division. The position could allow collaboration with School of Engineering programs and Robotics and Automation programs. The position requires teaching, assessment, industry collaboration and campus service. The faculty member is responsible for creating an environment in which students can accomplish the learning objectives of the course of instruction, as well as the design and develop new curriculum while supporting the advancement and wellbeing of the institution.
Position Responsibilities
Teaching including Professional Development (75%)
- Facilitates learning activities so that students learn the principles, theory, skills, and work ethic necessary to become proficient for entry level positions
- Collaboration with colleagues to coordinate course content
- Creates a positive learning environment with integrated hands-on learning experiences
- Participates in industry and/or professional organizations in order to maintain and enhance program health and academic integrity
- Engage with professional societies to enhance the reputation of the program and the institution
- Experience in Statistical Quality Control, Simulation Modeling, and Engineering Entrepreneurship preferred
Course and Program Development (10%) - Monitors, assesses and advises learner on technical and academic progress and performance
- Use assessment information with colleagues to refine Industrial Engineering Technology degree program
- Use assessment information with School of Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics division colleagues to refine shared courses.
- Through community and industry outreach define opportunities to integrate new content into courses to maintain course relevance
- Uses current academic and industry practices in assigned courses of instruction
- Recommends equipment purchases for labs/classrooms
Institutional Service (5%) - Support on campus recruiting efforts
- Support off campus recruiting efforts
- Participate with Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics division
- Support faculty recruitment
- Serve on campus committees
Community Outreach (5%) - Through community and industry outreach define opportunities to integrate new content into courses to maintain course relevant
Other Responsibilities (5%) - Assists in the recruitment and placement of learners
- As a part of a team, designs and develops new curriculum
- Provides support, coaching, and guidance to students
- Other duties as assigned

- A master’s degree in industrial engineering or related field; OR
- A bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field AND a minimum of 18 graduate credits in the subject they will be teaching; OR
- A bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field AND professional licensure and industry experience in the subject in which they will be teaching
- All faculty members regardless of education must have 3+ years of industry experience
